Notorious internet troll and critic, Amy Stake, has "karma" catch up to her when she criticizes the writing of a vengeful Goddess and gets reincarnated into a brutal shonen battle manga known for its astronomical body count.

In an ironic twist of fate, she'll only get the powers the manga readers imagine she has, and her strength will be directly proportional to how much they love her.

With death lurking at every step, Amy must now claw her way into the main story by any means necessary. Scene-stealing entrances, manufactured drama, and a possibly fabricated tragic backstory… Whatever it takes to secure her place as a fan favorite before the end of the world arrives.

Went digging, found gold

Reviewed at: Ch.20- Taboo.

As somewhat of an internet troll myself, the first chapter had me keeling over in laughter. And the rest of it, while not as hilarious as the hook, were still really good! I love the metaness (not sure if that's a word, but it is now...), I can't put into words how much I love the concept of the story personified, who doesn't know the full story because they don't like spoilers.

My only complaint, is that I found this beauty early, means that the binge (that was inevitably going to happen) left me starving for more.

Absurdly Good: No Gold Digging

Reviewed at: Ch.18- Family affairs.

I’ve rarely been so invested in a story so early before. It’s very enjoyable to read, the MC is very believable, and is definitely flawed beyond being a professional rage-baiter. You will genuinely be on the edge of your seat during some scenes, especially because the MC is honestly very engaging and you really want her to succeed. One thing I will nitpick is how much she talks with her book during scenes where people should really hear her, it’s a bit weird. Also I have no idea why gold digging is in the title.

I missed stories like this

Reviewed at: Ch.20- Taboo.

After reading the first couple of chapters, I was sucked into the story and binged the whole lot in one evening. I really missed this style of story! It reminds me of Tori Transmigrated that offers similar quality character development with humorous elements. Grammar and editing is great and it is smooth read all the way through. I loved the meta commentary, its nice to see a genre savvy protagonist that is still flawed and not just blasting through the main plot. I like the way she is avoiding the main cast, in spite of her power being linked to the viewer perception of her. Risky move, but it feels very relatable. Very fun read and I cannot wait for more chapters.

I am blown away by how amazing this story is. Normally when I see a novel with an interesting premise I feel like the story doesn’t follow through with a good execution. This is not that. This story is executed perfectly. I don’t have much to say on it except that you absolutely have to read it. It is just so incredible so you might as well read it now before it becomes the #1 story on royalroad one day.

In twenty chapters I'm more attached to the heroine of this story than most after 100. Man I wish my stories were half as good as yours.

I now proceed to waste space because this site needs fifty freaking words to post my review: In my lie I cry as I try to fry my pie.

Excellent execution of a fun premise

Reviewed at: Ch.15- Bear with me.

This review is entirely voluntary and unsolicited

The title and cover caught my eye, and then after reading the blurb, I immediately jumped to the first chapter. This story is everything I expected and hoped for, and it's been a fun read so far. I am definitely looking forward to more.

Style: I will admit that the (very occasional) modern slang was a teensy bit jarring at first, but it fits the story. The main character is a modern woman who spends too much time on the internet. It makes complete sense, and it adds to the experience. Also, the comments (in-story) are great.

Story: It's a bit early to say for sure, but I'm enjoying it so far, and I'm optimistic about the future. The main character's powerset is interesting, the situation she was dropped into is interesting, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it develops

Grammar: It's a bit unpolished, but it's still 100% readable. Update: I've been reading the chapters as they came out, but it seems the author has been making edits when suggested, and even before that, they were few. No reason to dock a point.

Character: I really like the main character as a character. She has her own personality and voice, and isn't just a cookie cutter generic lead. We've gotten some hints at her backstory, and from what I've seen, she's a well-thought-out and complete character. She's intelligent and competent, so she makes for a good progression fantasy protagonist as well.

Overall, I'm enjoying this story a lot and I'm excited to see where it goes from here

So Far So Good, but Not Much Happened Either

Reviewed at: Ch.18- Family affairs.

Well, 18 chapters in, and I like what I see. The plot hasn't progressed much, but I like the premise of the novel, and the execution seems pretty good so far. The main character's also decently interesting, and she feels properly fleshed out. So far so good, but I'll have to read more to see where this goes

Creative, engaging, and causing me to sit waiting eagerly for each new chapter. For my own tastes this has been, even as early in the story as it is, one of the best fictions I’ve found on this site.

Where it’s unique: the story plays with three layers, what the main character of this story experiences, the events of fictional world the main character is trapped in, and what from the fictional story is released to the internet as a fictional manga of the story she’s trapped in.

It all creates an absolutely fascinating experience where you’re essentially reading 3 different stories and seeing how they interact with each other.

as soon as this author creates a way for me to give them money I’m doing it; I’ve paid for stories that haven’t kept me half as engaged as The Art of Gold Digging

Completely Unique and Very Intriguing

Reviewed at: Ch.19- Can't Escape.

(I binged read this at 2am, so I will come back and edit this review later)

This story premise is refreshingly unique. The situations the MC find herself in are textbook story plotlines, but they feel fresh with the perspective she brings to the table. I cannot wait for more!

This is great. Everything about it is peak. There's nothing to complain about;

The writing is peak.

The characters are peak.

The style is peakiest, even.

When there are flaws, is peak. When it's silly, is peak. I don't think I have been hyped for a book like this in a long, long time.

The terrible pun that is the main character's name that I took almost 5 chapters to get is peak.

I specially love,

Seeing the characters reactions to Amys shenanigans and reading the in-world readers comments when a chapter is released. Sorry author! I know you hate writing these, but it makes everything feel like a real, breathing fandom and a manga world even more.

I love this, I can't wait for the next chapter. Please read this. I beg you.

Also Libris is goated.
