Defy destiny. Ascend beyond the realm of gods.

For thousands of years, the cycle of fate repeats itself: the Death God is reborn, only to be slain at the hands of a [Hero] chosen by the Goddess of Life. Knowing his death is inevitable, Nox the Death God instead alters the reincarnation process so that unlike his predecessors who came before him, he would retain his memories, his death magic abilities, and his vast pool of mana in his next life.

Now reborn in the body of Eli— a young orphan in the small city of Velmond on the outskirts of the Sanctus Empire— he sets off with a plan to break this cycle of fate once and for all. The first step to achieving his goal is to become a [Healer] and enroll into the Holy Academy of the Church of Life.

And the second step of his plan? Become stronger than ever before.

Having already reached the pinnacle of power in his past life, Nox will have to do it all again. But this time, not only will he transcend the power of even gods, he will also do it even faster.

I'm greatly disappointed after chapter 9.

The reveal, no the whole thing starting from chapter 5 feels too unnatural. You wanted MC to get to certain point and made sure he gets there.

The way you used feels forced, reasoning of MC is at best described as strange considering his past. Actions of side characters feel strange. The monologue to the vilian brother, the theatrics etc.

The fight felt cheap as well. Death god, with incredible magic stat, and the best he can do is conjure a floating spear.

Magic system is starting to bother me as well. With all the knowledge he has, the best he can do is make some strange shield out of death magic?

What is it with him copying the healing magic in orphange?

At the start I was expecting something much better. Chapter 1-4 was decent read.

Binge worthy start, strong to stronger progression

Reviewed at: Chapter 14: Boss

Pro: Truly binge worthy start with solid world building, good writing (with no noteworthy grammatical problems), good pacing/relatively fast start, and a cast of interesting characters.  The MC has an interesting problem in that any public showing of his reincarnation-based abilities is likely to lead his enemies to him prior to his fully regaining his strength.

Cons:  The MC is very much a Strong Lead.  His reincarnation puts him in a vulnerable place physically, so his starting archetype is Glass Cannon.  As expected of a Death God, even from the beginning, anything he wants dead is likely to die as a result of his magic.  (Admittedly, his use of that power comes with its own problems…see Pros).  His abilities largely trump his starting physical weakness.

Overall, I strongly recommend what I have read so far.

A good Reincarnation litrpg

Reviewed at: Chapter 13: The [Healer]

I read this when I was bored and I like God reincarnation stories and till now, it has been more than a decent novel. There's overarching plotlines with hero and demon king cycles and MC's goal of breaking it. As for his personality, he's ruthless and developing well in the body of a child. The powers are cool and even if it's in edgy territory, most Litrpg are and that's a plus in my opinion.

It's still early, so I won't go into the negatives, but I think this should be a very decent outing.

So this story is really interesting. The title screams peak edge, the blurb says OP MC regressor magic school, and the first chapter gives you that final battle between the hero and demon lord type vibe that I absolutely eat up when it comes to regressor stories. So far, it's proven to be all of those things in various quantities as well as so much more.

The MC is, as the title would suggest, the Death God, reincarnated into the body of a young boy with everything reset save for his death magic mastery and insane magic stat. And as you'd expect from a Death God, he can be absolutely ruthless when he needs to be. The interesting twist here is that while the above is true, there are some reincarnation hero-demon lord cycle shenanigans going on that makes Death God a reoccurring role similar to Hero. (It's explained that it is technically the same soul, but normally the reincarnation has no memories or any carryover).

As such, the voice of this character isn't some ancient being of supreme wisdom, but rather a very capable, cunning, and ambitious not-young-and-naive-but-not-old-and-tired sort of personality who yearns to break the whole cycle of Hero and Death God. And that comes with some empathy as well, and an eye for character that leads to him recruiting followers from both expected and unexpected places.

The OP MC shenanigans start right from the top, and the story revels in crunchy fights told from the other perspectives as outsiders/antagonists are subjected to the sheer overwhelming power of a reincarnated Death God. It's not just the power, though. You're also hinted to the MC's mastery of the magic system, and the control and depth of understanding that one would expect from a being who has reached past the pinnacle of advancement.

Overall, I think this is a really wonderful story, and I expect really good things to come.

So far it has been an enjoyable read. The Death God has been following a set destiny which is dying at the hands of a “Hero” that also perishes. He is done with all that. We will follow Eli as he decides how to best live a better life while trying to not be found out.
