Gunsoul is now available for purchase on Amazon and Audible!

Marauders shot Yuan in the head and buried him in a ditch. They thought it would be enough to put him down. They were wrong.

Rising from the dead by the will of the Gun, demigod of revenge and firearms, Yuan only has one goal in mind: track down his murderers across the Unmade World and slaughter every last one of them. With the bullet-core stuck in his skull marking him as a Gunsoul, he can finally teach these arrogant cultivators a lesson they’ll never forget.

But revenge isn’t so easy to claim. To carve out a path through the wasteland, Yuan will have to face power-hungry sects, nuclear cultivators, and weapon-gods. Let them come. No one will bury him again.

He’ll give them all a taste of Bullet Hell.

Current schedule: Daily chapters from Monday to Friday.

It's like what I assume a mashup of Enter the Dungeon, No Guns Life, Chainsaw Man, Xianxia, and a dash of humor would look like. Like everything Void Herald writes, it's an amazing read.

I thought for a little bit about how to add in some gun related wordplay to this review, but the book does a better job of it than I ever would, so I'll spare you all (for now).

I binged this entire book in a single day and it was totally worth it. It’s nice to occasionally read a relatively short story that checks all the boxes and really hits home. I recently reread the perfect run and was sad to not be able to read stuff of that level anymore, but I started reading this and only realized it was also written by void herald like 50 chapters in which was nice but it made sense considering how the quality was of a similar level. Overall a great read.

It's been a short while since I started reading this story, and having just reached the end I find myself satisfied. A good story, with a very 'Shonen manga' feeling from beginning to end, a proper ending and a possibility of other stories with the characters as cameos in the future. 10/10 will read again

This author won my trust with excellent previous stories.  Reading his work on a project from day one has been interesting.  While the setup is basic I am looking forward to seeing how they marry the apocalypse,  xiansia and Americana angles further. I hope for a deeper characterization  and even more world building

I don't often like Xianxia stories, but this one feels more like a spinoff from the genre. The result is a mix between post apocalypse, far west and cultivation.

Fast and intense like a good gun fight.

Style over substance in the best possible way

So the quick blurb is post post apocalyptic xianxia weird west.  It feels like a weird west rather than atom punk version of the non-Bethesda Fallouts while osculating between that  and a combination of Bastard and Chainsawman on one end of the spectrum and a proper spaghetti western on the other.  I know that doesn't sound like it makes a lot of sense, but this really was a fun story.

Weird. In a good way.

Post apocalyptic wild west combined with xianxia for a thoroughly weird experience. Unlike your average silly isekai that has a weird plot for the title and then reverts to standard isekai formula this story absolutely sends it and its amazing. Different. Unqiue. Insert synonym here.

I mean its written by void herald. Nuff said really.

Also no romance <3

A well executed Xianxia/madmax fusion

Reviewed at: 18: The Second Coil

Gun Cultivators and Radiation Witches in a madmax Xianxia apocalypse is one of the coolest premises I have seen in a while and executed perfectly. The characters are likable, the plot is interesting, the setting compelling and the action tight. Gun/10, would shoot a slaver. A definite recommendation for anyone.

The biggest thing I enjoyed about this story was how unique it was - When I think of a story involving cultivation, I didn’t imagine it involved a train with a spirit or other vehicles being bound with spirits. The difference dao’s in the story was a nice change of pace. For me it was an out of the box style story with enough traditional cultivation involved that made it enjoyable to read.  Thanks!

It's like cultivation xianxia, Mad Max and Enter the Gungeon rolled into one. Gunsoul has fast-paced post-apocalyptic action, found family, and power growth with an MC learning to cultivate actual enlightenment, not just qi. The setting and atmosphere are beautifully detailed. Completed story with a beautiful ending.

I'm eagerly awaiting Void Herald's next work, and will definitely be checking out his existing archive.
